Something from the dermatologist. Depending on your acne, you may need antibiotics to clear it at first, then stuff to help the healing along.
Also, cut down on the sugar, and eat more fruits and veggies — and get lots and lots of water! And exercise — the blood moving will do you good.
Pro-Active really does work, but you have to keep up with it. I’ve seen someone whose face was completely covered in acne, and after just a week or so, you could really see a difference.
Proactiv is pretty phenomenal, I have been using it for about 3 months and it clears terrible acne REALLY well.
I’ve heard ProActive is OK.
Don’t know about Acne Free.
Neutrogena I’ve heard from a few friends irritated their skin.
A good nights sleep and plenty of water…
or
Plastic surgery.
Go to a professional esthetician at a good beauty salon for treatment and advice. There are lots of good products out there, but also a lot of misinformation and claims that are not backed up by any science or evidence. One of the best things you can do is use less makeup! Also use a simple scrub that doesn’t irritate your skin. Forget peelings, all they do is irritate your skin in my opinion.
Otherwise the best way to get over acne is to grow older.

I used natural home remedies for my acne 3 days from now. I have learned that garlic cures the toughest acne. Use several times daily. Though it really hurts. To cure acne further, eat 3 seeds of raw garlic once daily for a month. It purifies blood stream and ensure basic cleaning of blood and keeps acne away. Another one is grated cucumber, apply over the face, neck and eyes for 15-20 minutes. Its best tonic for your complexion and prevents pimples and blackheads for regular use. You may also use the lemon juice, apply regularly to reduce pimples and acne.
Proactive is not good at all.My best friend is a esthetician and I asked her about proactive and she told me I would be better off using Comet cleanser as it is so abrasive, they only do well because of the celebrity advertisments. Also they have a new line called unblemish (which my sister sells) by the makers of proactive and my sister has broken out in horribly after using it. To be honest none of these products are very good. The problem is they are using waaay to many things (preservatives, petroleum based products, propolyene glycol, dimethicone, parabeans) things that should never come in contact with your skin and especially your face. If you do not believe me look up the ingredients individually on the web and you will see many of them are either petroleum based/ containing chemical mixtures/ formeldahyde that could later cause cancer, or containing items that cause contact dermatitis or excema. I have had horrible acne growing up, which is now cleared up do to my change in habits and products and now my little sister is getting horrible acne, which is claring up alot (now that she quit the proactive Rodan and Fields products) and started using organic/natural products which I am formulating for her. Trust me everybody is in it for the money, they put nasty preservatives, and fillers in their products to extend shelf life and spend most of their money on the advertising and packaging. What you need most is a basic natural cleanser, toner, moisturizer and as my sister is so excitingly seeing you too will see amazing results. If you need any more info contact me I’d love to help. Also I can formulate something for you if you are interested. Because I am on a mission to help people suffering with this as I did. . ((HUGS))
Ok seriously, i have tried everything over the counter thats on the market…they work ok, not great. Over the counter i had the best results with Clearisil….Proactive to me sucked! Proactive is all just a hype created by heavy duty marketing. I’m 24 and about a year ago i finally went to a dermatologist to get some medication and i WISH i would have gone years ago. My doctor put me on minocycline, 100mg caps, which I take once a day and a face cream called Clinac BPO which i just use as needed. The minocycline will take a good month or two to get into your system and take effect but i’m soo happy that i went to the dermatologist. My recommendation…dont waste money on over the counter products. Go to a dermatologist, your insurance will cover it and it is cheaper in the long run. For $10/month i get my prescriptino refilled and as far as the face cream i’ve still had the same tube for the past year.
