Drink plenty of water. Staying well hydrated can help your condition improve, because the "waste management" control system in your body requires a lot of water to do its job. Without enough water, the body has difficulty removing some waste products efficiently.
Look for face washes which contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide. This is the key ingredient in some of the best face washes. use a 5-10% benzoyl peroxide of mild to moderate acne and 10% for severe.
Try smashing one tablet of aspirin in a small bowl, then adding lemon juice to the mixture. Aspirin is acete salicylic acid, chemically related to salicylic acid. Apply to the affected areas overnight. It boosts the healing process while reducing redness.
Try putting toothpaste (paste, NOT gel) on your face, cover it with a bandage, and keep it on all night. When you wash it off in the morning your acne will look better. The astringent and surfactant nature of the toothpaste will help diminish the appearance of pimples. But the toothpaste has been known to burn sensitive skin of the face, so be careful. If your face does burn, stop acne treatments and work on healing your burn.
Try using Bentonite Clay, a natural mineral powder which has been known to absorb impurities and help neutralise the skin’s oiliness, and can be found online. Mix 2 tablespoons with a dash of cold water and smooth over the face as a thick paste. Once dried gently wipe off with a flannel or sponge.
Another way to zap pimples is shaving cream. Apply it to your pimple and it will dry it up. It disappears by morning, but washes your face after waking up. If nothing is working for you, drink four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted with water daily. It works very well for some people and is worth a try. Another good solution is aloe Vera gel fresh from the plant, taken orally.

Ask your derm for retin-a! It totally changed my skin. If you’re under 35 and have insurance it should be cheap as all hell. I used benxoyl too but I wanted clearer skin. Oh, I’m on BCP too, which helps I think. Best of luck!
home-made treatments and store-bought treatments will not help you if you have really bad acne. You would have to go to the doctor/dermatologist and talk with them about it. Retin-A is a very successful treatment, paired with a oral tetracycline, acne is doomed.
you could try Dianette. its a contraceptive pill but also used to treat acne, worked miracles for me.
The Benzaclin already has Clindamycin (an antibiotic) in it, so it wouldn’t help to add an antibiotic.
The only possible additions would be Adapalene (similar to Retin-A) or Accutane. There are plenty of things that would be less effective or would just dry out your skin, but those are the only two things that could be stronger.
Accutane may not be appropriate for your acne. Your doctor can tell you.
Ask your dermatologist what could make this work better. Adapalene might be a possibility. It is by prescription.
Trying to add in all kinds of other home remedies are just going to dry out and irritate your skin, which will make things worse as your skin produces more oil.
There is another possible direction. Hormonal birth control can reduce acne. You’ll need to talk to your doctor.
I’m actually on Accutane right now, google it. Works great but on for people with SEVERE acne
# Become well-acquainted with baking soda. Seriously, it may seem odd, but baking soda has become one of my best allies in fighting acne. Simply make a paste of baking soda and water (you want to aim for a slightly-thinner than toothpaste consistency) and rub it gently on your skin for about 30 seconds after you have used your facial cleaner. Then, rinse it off gently with warm water. While you can use this two times a day (morning and night), I recommend only using it at night, as it can irritate sensitive skin. As we all know, irritation can only make acne worse.
