How do I get rid of baby acne on my 3 month old?
Hе hаd acne first whеn hе wаѕ born аnd іt ѕtаrtеd going away wіth ѕοmе dove soap. Now іtѕ coming back οn one side οf hіѕ face аnd hе scratches аt іt. HELP.
Ok just put little gloves on his hands and that will keep him from scratching. Just leave it alone and it will go away. Don’t pop it, or it will just stay there.
I heard it called milk bumps ,and there is nothing you can do .My boys had it when they were that age and it eventually goes away.
this is really nasty, but it works. take his first morning wet diaper and rub it on his face where the acne is. leave it for about 10 minutes and then wash his face with water like you would normally do. i guarantee it will clear up.
sounds crazy, but i actually tried it with my son.
Describe the symptoms to your pediatrician and ask him about curetting the lesions.
That’s dematologyspeak for zitpopping. Only when a physician does it, you generally get good results.
It’s not acne; they are called milk bumps as the previous poster stated. You should have contacted your pediatrician about this, and before using Dove on a baby.
Stop using grown up soap on his face; even dove is too harsh. Switch back to baby lotions, etc. Use the baby soap on his face after each nap. It could be that he is drooling, causing the bumps to be worse on the one side of his face.
To keep him from scratching, you can put little baby mittens on his hands, and put a bit of mild baby lotion on his face. With proper care, they will go away on their own.
Edit: and good lord don’t attempt to pop anything and do NOT do the dirty diaper thing…that’s just disgusting.
First, you need to make sure you are not over washing his face. Over washing can lead to dry skin and those skin cells clog pores. You can probably get along with a bath every other day, though Parenting magazine says you can go as little as once a week. You may want to try baby lotion as well if his face is dried-out. Now, if your baby’s face does not have a ‘dry’ issue and is oily, of course you may want to do the opposite. Wash his face more often. Do keep in mind the that baby acne it normal and will slowly go away on it’s own as you baby’s skin gets used to the environment outside the womb.
If anything and it really bothers you, talk to your doctor to see what they recommend, but it is normal.
I use Dove too on my baby and it works fine, in fact my doctor is the one whom told me to use it.
Good luck!
Mommy of 2
Do you breastfeed? If you do, try putting breast milk on the baby’s cheeks. I know it sounds gross but it worked for my baby in 24 hours.
Good luck!
my 2 month old has the same problem his doctor said to use hydrocortisone cream with aloe 1% it went away in 2 days
Oh thats normal, they are really not pimples they are milk bumps! just wash your baby body with a warm wash cloth before u put him to bed at night! and will go away soon, it should work, it did for my kids!
