I Know Which Acne Treatment Works...Do You?...CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT...
How to get rid of acne when nothing works?
I hаνе mild tο moderate acne аnd I’m 27. It’s really bothersome аnd hυrtѕ mу self esteem a lot. Whаt dο I dο tο gеt rid οf thе acne. I hаνе tried medications wіth benzyl peroxide аnd salicylic acid. I hаνе аlѕο tried natural things…
Whаt саn I dο аnd whеn іѕ іt time tο see a Dr? Whаt wіll thе Dr lіkеlу dο fοr acne thаt іѕ bothersome bυt nοt completely out οf control?
If nothing else works, that’s when it’s time to see a doctor; in this case, a dermatologist. As to what the dermatologist will do…well, that all depends on the doctor (dermatologist) and how bad the acne is; however, the doc can only make a proper diagnosis after actually examining u.
The dermatologist will give you stuff that you can’t buy over the counter and it worked like a charm for my sister
My friend just started acuteen (pronounced ack-u-teen) i think its called do not quote me on the spelling of it. Also I have used differen (pronounced diff-er-en) again not sure on the spelling, but it has been successful. I would bring those up with your doctor for sure.
I have very oily and acne prone skin as well. I’ve been trying to deal with it for years now.
After trying EVERY over the counter treatment, I went to the dermatologist and she prescribed an antibiotic to help treat the bacteria on my skin (which promotes acne). I now take this pill twice a day and it truly is working.
I was also instructed to use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser to wash my face with twice a day. I use CeraVe moisturizer as well. These products are both very inexpensive and are gentle enough to not dry out your skin, but also clean deep down. (I can actually feel the cleanser working.)
My best tip is to use the Clarisonic Mia facial cleansing system. It is basically a brush head that spins and vibrates to clean your skin deep down in the pores. It also removes makeup much more effectively than manual cleansing. It is a bit expensive (about $200), but it is COMPLETELY worth it! I had tried other systems such as the Neutrogena Wave, and that didn’t work for me. I noticed a difference in my skin the first time I used the Mia and my acne has cleared up 100% with this brush as well as the dermatologist’s recommendations.
I wish you luck! I know how difficult dealing with acne can be
At 27 you are really dealing with adult acne which will be hormonal. that means you need to do a variety of things like:
eat well balanced diet high in fresh fruit and vegetables and low in any type of animal fats. Stare clear of alcohols, coffee, soda, sugary foods and drinks and fried food until your hormones have rebalanced.
I’d go see a herbalist to get the right herbs that will help with hormone balancing and take some probiotics to get your gut flora balanced as well.
then look at some treatments like blue light lazer for acne.
also look at your stress levels. In adults stress is often the cause of the hormonal swing. Change yoru lifestyle if that is impacting on your stress or if you can’t look at medication or learning to deal with stressful situations in a healthy way.
You’ll find a ton of great articles on acne, causes, treatments etc at the resource link i’ve dropped beloe.
It’s Candida!!
What you eat effects your skin MUCH MORE than any cleanser or cream or drug! Vitamin A, Pyridoxine (B6), zinc, and potassium are good to cure acne! while Vitamin E helps against scaring. you could get these nutrient levels checked out by the doctor or nurse (they will take a blood test to determine if you’re lacking any of them). green tea also helps the skin….always eat healthy (LOTS of vegetables and NO junk food, sugar, sugar substitutes, or white flour) and drink plenty of water!
google Candida, for more info (i think that’s what you have). alkalize your body (lemons!!) and start eating healthy to cure acne.
SIX things must be done EVERYDAY to reduce/prevent acne. Doing one or a few of these will NOT keep skin clear as possible!
STEP 1 WASH, TONE, MOISTURIZE FACE TWICE A DAY
Required: Wash Face with warm water & cleanser. Try Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar by Johnson & Johnson.
Required: Tone Face with liquid toner/astringent. Try Thayers or Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, it’s gentle, helps prevent acne, minimizes pore size.
Optional: Treat Face with acne medicine. Try ONE of these active ingredients for a period of time to see if skin improves: Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid. Try acids by Alpha Hydrox/Neoteric Cosmetics, Skin Laboratory, Cellbone Technology.
Required: Moisturize Face with an oil-free moisturizer. Try Lily Of The Desert Aloe Vera Gelly, its 99% organic, contains Vitamin A, C, E! Aloe is gentle, helps renew skin cells, heals blemishes/scars. Don’t use other brands of aloe, has very little aloe and to much junk in it which can irritate skin!
CAUTION: Wash, Tone, Moisturize Face at least 2x a day, morning & night (possibly 3rd time, midday, if super oily/sweating). Washing your face over 2 or 3 times a day can cause irritation and increase oil production! Only use oil free products that won’t clog pores & cause acne! Products that work for one person may not work for another person, so always do small patch test on face for a couple of days to see how skin will react to product! Don’t quickly jump from product to product! Give skin a break before trying new product to prevent irritation! Don’t use a variety of acne fighting ingredients at once because that can cause severe dryness and irritation! Decide which ONE product will have the ONE type of acne medicine in it – cleanser, toner, treatment, moisturizer. Natural & gentle products are sometimes more effective than acne medicine!
STEP 2 KEEP HANDS, HAIR, OTHER STUFF CLEAN
Keep dirt & bacteria at bay to prevent breakouts! Always wash hands before applying face products! Don’t rest hands on face! Don’t let phone nor dirty oily hair touch face! Don’t lean face on objects! Clean glasses often! Wash pillowcase, sheets, blanket, washcloth, towel often! Old makeup, makeup tools harbor bacteria, Use fresh makeup, wash/replace tools often! Wash makeup off face before going to bed!
STEP 3 EAT HEALTHY FOOD AND LIMIT JUNK FOOD
Research has shown that there is a connection between certain kinds of food & acne! Read book The Clear Skin Diet by Alan C. Logan & Valori Treloar! This book has detailed info on what to eat and not to eat to help reduce/prevent acne! Always eat healthy food such as fruits, vegetables, lean meat, fiber, beans, wholegrains, foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids, foods rich in vitamin A & C. Limit intake of frozen meals, dairy, fat, oil, butter, greasy/fried foods, sugar, candy, salt, dessert. Always avoid cigarettes, tobacco, illegal drugs! Acne can be caused or aggravated by constipation, make sure bow movements are regular! Getting enough sleep helps skin repair itself!
STEP 4 DRINK 64 OZ WATER
Drinking about 64 oz of pure water everyday improves skin quality, flushes out toxins, delivers nutrients to skin! You can also include 100% Fruit Juice as part of your daily total. Limit intake of milk, caffeine, coffee, soda pop, tea, alcohol.
STEP 5 TAKE VITAMIN MINERAL SUPPLEMENT
Its hard to get all vitamins minerals skin needs, so take supplement everyday! Overdosing on vitamins minerals from food or supplements is dangerous!
STEP 6 ACTIVATE YOUR SKIN
Aerobic Exercise increases circulation & delivery of nutrients to skin cells, encourages good blood supply, helps remove toxins, controls acne breakouts! To see results, do 20 to 30 min of exercise, EVERYDAY or every other day! Drink Water! Immediately take a shower to remove sweat & dirt!
Face Massage improves acne prone skin because it removes toxins away from the face & delivers nutrients to the skin. A lymphatic massage (massaging the lymph nodes on the face) can definitely improve your skin! Google search “Facial Lymphatic Massage” or “Facial Lymph Nodes” to find out where these spots are located on the face. To see results, do EVERYDAY or every other day! Wash face. Apply toner. WASH HANDS & then use aloe vera as massage gel. Do 10 min massage before going to bed. Don’t wash face again, let aloe dry on face. You can also buy a book on face massage, such as Ten Minute Facelift by Jennie Harding. Another way to massage your face is to use a soft “facial brush” when washing your face. Gently use the brush in circular movements on each part of your face for at least 30 seconds. Try the “Gentle Face Exfomassage Brush” by Skin QR Organics or use the electronic “Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing System”. Go to Clarisonic website. The Clarisonic has gotten so many positive results for acne sufferers! Don’t use facial brush if you have pustular acne or serious sensitive skin!
